Boomlights MIDI Editor is a piano roll note editing plugin designed specifically for the programming and production of light shows for the LC-8 Lighting Controller. Created by Boomlights artist Kaskobi, the Ableton Max for Live plugin offers users a multitude of features intended to expedite and simplify the process of programming light shows.

Using the colour window, you can select any colour within the RGB spectrum and the plugin will automatically generate the RGB colour values required to produce it. From this point, you can select a single note placed on the MIDI piano roll and the plugin will automatically generate two additional notes, which, in combination with the initial note, will be set to the selected RGB colour values. This allows users to focus on the creative aspects of programming instead of tedious tasks such as individually setting velocity values of MIDI notes.

Additional features allow you to set and input all 8 RGB channels simultaneously as well as mirror a selection, which makes programming certain lighting effects much easier. Furthermore, the ability to preview light shows directly from the plugin allows users to program, produce and monitor light shows without needing to have an LC-8 Lighting Controller or any lighting fixtures connected.
